What Shocks Do I Need for My 2004 Thor Wanderer Wagon?
Question:
I have a 2004 Wanderer Wagon made by Thor. It is a 217WTB Toy hauler. It has 2 dexter 3500 lb axles. I am looking for new shocks. The rubber is weathered checked. I need four new shocks. Having hard time finding the right ones. I have 11.5 inches between the 2 brackets that they go in. The ones I have now are 15 inches total length. How do you know the right length to buy? How do you measure them to order the correct ones? Thanks for any info.

I have an answer for you. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm what new shocks you need for your 2004 Thor Wanderer unless I have the length of your shocks totally expanded or totally compressed. I went ahead and attached a picture of how you take the measurement of your shocks.
With your 3500 pound axles, I recommend the Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks # LC281255. These shocks have an extended length of 13-1/2" and a compressed length of 8-5/8". In order to know if these will fit, I recommend measuring your current shocks using the locations outlined in the attached image.
