Troubleshooting the Even Brake System During the Test Procedure
Question:
I was told the problem is probably a loose write but I have checked the wires I could find. What else could be causing the problem?

If the red light on your Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400 is accompanied by a "braking" or "EvenBrake" LCD text message it may be a communications error. Per the instructions manual you should try relocating the ICX transmitter to a higher location if possible and relocate the motorhome monitor.
If that doesn't solve the issue some other things to check would be to make sure that the unit is getting 12V power from the socket it is plugged into and also from the transmitter.
The system is also looking for frequency from the motorhome. Make sure all your wiring connections are secure and "Correct" on the RV.
Make sure that the stop light switch is wired correctly. On your towed vehicle you will want to be certain that it is attached to the COLD side of the brake light switch. This is the wire above the brake pedal that only receives power with the brake pedal depressed (and no power with any other function).
If this doesn't solve your issue, please feel free to reach back out to me and I would be happy to help you troubleshoot further.
