Parts Needed to Install Curt Triflex and 7-Way on 2003 Chevy Express
Question:
Seeking to add trailer brake controller to my 2003 Chevy Express 3500 van. Looking at: Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers Part Numbers: C51140,C51515 Also want to update my 4 pin flat trailer pigtail to Std 7 pin connector like: 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End Item # HM40975 Van currently has a Hopkins 310-0041-561 module installed to connect tail/stop/turn lights into 4pin connector for trailer. 2007 vintage How to determine if van has factory tow package doubtful? and what do I need to add the controller and convert to 7pin for trailer brakes? Will I need to run some wire blue from the front of van to back? Kit?

Since your 2003 Chevy Express Van has Hopkins 4-way wiring that would indicate that your van does NOT have the factory tow package so to install the Curt Triflex part # C24VV with the # C51515 you'd need the 4-way to 7-way brake controller install kit part # ETBC7.
You would not need the HM40975 nor would you need to run a blue wire to the front of the vehicle.
