Could Trailer Hitch for 2012 Toyota Venza be Used as Tow Point

Question:

Hey, my car doesnt have tow points so Ive seen it recommended to install a trailer hitch to allow for towing out the vehicle if it gets stuck e.g. off-road. Would this hitch be adequate for this use for a 2012 Venza? I know the vehicle weighs more than the towing capacity but Im not sure if that is the number to look at for this. Thanks!

A trailer hitch like the Draw Tite part # 36512 that you referenced would work as a recovery point like you mentioned. It even has tow hooks built into it to allow for an easy place for the strap to connect to.
