Troubleshooting Atwood Air Command That Is Leaking Water Inside RV
Question:
We purchased an Atwood Air Command in 2017 and it worked amazing! Heat and AC perfect until a few months ago... it started leaking water on the inside, instead of outside of the RV. We tried everything. Cleaned drain pipe, took the whole thing apart and cleaned it - found there was water freezing, so leveled it, finally we just bit the bullet and bought a new one because of brutal summer. Just installed it. Worked amazing for all of one night and we woke up to leaking on the inside. Can anyone tell us what is happening?

It may be leaking because the rubber gasket is too loose or too tight. The rubber gasket is basically used to seal the air conditioner with the roof and It will normally have 4 or more bolts that fix the air conditioner with the roof. The most important thing with this assembly is to have a gap of at-least half inch between the air conditioner and the gasket. Having said this don’t keep it too loose and neither it should be very tight. This is very critical and if there is no gap left then the water might get trapped and flow inside the RV instead of going on to the roof.
