In regards to a 2004 Lexus GX 470, the factory tow package comes with most of the needed components. The only things you'll need to add to add really is a brake controller (if trailer has brakes), ball mount/hitch ball, and transmission cooler (recommended for high elevation towing). I recommend the Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller part # C24VV with Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers part # C51362 and then the etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989899. If you decide on a transmission cooler I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13502.
In regards to towing capacity, this is best found in the owner's manual.
