Trailer Hitch for 2016 Honda HR-V to Tow Trailer for Scooter
Question:
I am looking to get a hitch for my 2016 Honda HRV. My purpose is to carry my Honda Ruckus scooter. The scooter weighs 198 lbs. The hitches I have seen say they have a tongue weight of 200 lbs. So to me it does not sound like an option being that the weight is so close to the allowable tongue weight. Do you agree?

Expert Reply:
Since the hitches available for your 2016 Honda HR-V are lower in capacity like the Curt hitch # C18145 which has a tongue capacity of 200 lbs which would be too close to the weight of your scooter. Best option would be to tow a small trailer with your vehicle.
To do that you'd also need trailer wiring like the Tekonsha part # 118673 and a ball mount like # C45521.
