The tie down hooks on the 2 inch x 10 foot Easy Ratchet Tie Downs, item # EM34410, are rubber coated steel with a hook on one end and a loop on the other attached to the strap.
These hooks are formed by bending a single piece of round steel into the loop and hook resembling putting your two fingers together and making a hook at the end.
