Troubleshooting New Cargo Trailer Blowing Fuses In Tow Vehicle When Left Turn Signal Is Used
Question:
I just bought a brand new cargo trailer and every time I activate the left turn signal it blows the fuse. I know its not my tow vehicle because I used another truck and it did the same thing. Any ideas?

I would be happy to help!
Since the fuse blows no matter which tow vehicle you use then the issue is that the left turn signal wire has a short in it somewhere. Since you mentioned you just purchased the cargo trailer brand new I would take it back to the dealer you purchased it from and have them repair the wire.
If not you will need get under the trailer and trace the left turn signal wire from the trailer connector back to the tail light looking for damage.
The damaged section will need to be replaced with # 16-1-1 and heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-5.
I included a link to a helpful article on wiring for you to take a look at.
