Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2012 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 ft Bed

Question:

I have a 2012 Ford F150 with an Anderson Gooseneck with 5th Wheel adapter and the bed of my truck is only 5 1/2. Everytime I make a sharp turn or try backing the trailer hits the cab of my truck causing severe damage. What hitch would you recommend while still using my gooseneck fittings. The ball is in the bed of the truck.

For trucks that have as short of a bed as what your 2012 Ford F-150 has (shorter than 6 feet) there's really only one hitch option that will give you the turning clearance you'd need with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550040 which slides 22-1/2 inches. This is about twice as far as other hitches out there which is why it's only option. What's really cool about this hitch is that it slides automatically as you make turns so you wouldn't have to worry about having to get out and operate a slider manually or even have to remember anything at all when turning.

There is no way to attach this hitch to a gooseneck ball so you'd need a standard fifth wheel rail kit like the # RP50081-58 which is a confirmed fit for your truck and the Demco hitch.
