Is the Demco Stay-IN-Play Required if I Have a Brake Controller in my RV
Question:
Do you need the stay and play braking system for the towed vehicle if the RV has a brake controller?

Expert Reply:
Yes. A trailer brake controller will not operate a flat towed vehicle's brakes in the same manner that a supplemental braking system for flat towing like the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 will. There are options like the Brake Buddy Stealth # HM39530 that can act as a trailer brake controller and also comes with the parts needed to install on the tow vehicle to allow it to function as a supplemental braking system.
I've linked some review and installation videos of these for you to check out, as well. If you need any other parts and can let me know what vehicle you're flat towing, I can help you locate those parts as well.
