Matching Brake Assemblies and Mounting Bolt Pattern of 10 x 2-1/4 Inch Trailer Brake

Question:

I want to make sure I am getting matching Left and Right brakes. AKEBRK-35R-SA and AKEBRK-35L-SA It seems interesting because they are different prices. Also that web page didnt say how far apart the bolts are. I am guessing that it is kind of standard? about 2/3/4?

Helpful Expert Reply:

The # AKEBRK-35L-SA would be the left brake assembly and # AKEBRK-35R-SA would be the right side matching self-adjusting brake assemblies compatible with the 10 x 2-1/4 inch brake drums used on a typical 3500 lb axle. The price we charge for them is based on what our vendors charge us and what the others in the market are asking.

The mounting studs on the brake backing plate measure 2-7/8 inches apart, center to center.
