Recommended B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch For 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 Shortbed W/ B&W Turnoverball
Question:
I have an 2005 chevy durmax 2500hd with 6.5 bed. I currently have the BandW hideaway gooseneck installed. I have been looking at the BandW 5th wheel companion series, and want to confirm it will work with my truck and current setup. If so, which model do you recommend?. The 5th wheel camper I will be towing weighs approximately 12K. Thanks

Since your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax has the 6-1/2' Bed you will want to use the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # BWRVK3400.
A Slider hitch is recommended on short bed trucks to give you additional cab to trailer clearance when making tight turns. This hitch has a 20000lb trailer weight rating and a 5000lb pin weight rating so it will be plenty for your 12000lb fifth wheel trailer.
This will fit directly into your B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck hitch, and when removed will give you the empty bed you currently have.
In addition you will also want to add a 7-way connector to the bed of your truck using the Curt # C56070.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
