Which Air-Suspension Pin Box to Replace Lippert 1621HD on 18,000 Lb 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
Following your advice I went and checked, my Lippert is a modle 1621HD. I assume the HD is for Heavy Duty. It is rated for 18,000 lbs. Question: Is there any significance to the HD? Will the Tri Glide work for me. The trailer is a Mobile suites, GVWR 16,500 which is just about what it weighed on the scales. But with a full load of everything it might nudge 18,000.

The HD designation on your Lippert 1621HD pin box does indicate that it is a heavy duty model. Based on your estimated 18,000 lb gross trailer weight you can use the TrailAir # LC158778. I did confirm with my contact that the LC158778 will work in your application. Or you can use one of the other replacement pin boxes such as the Reese # RP34FR, which is a sidewinder pin box without air suspension.
