Troubleshooting Interior Trailer Lights Towed by Silverado Not Active
Question:
Good evening, I read you initial answer regarding troubleshooting interior light for an 07 Chevrolet Trail Blazer. I recently purchased an enclosed trailer and when checking all interior lights after completing the state trailer inspection. I found the interior lights not working none. In you article you mentioned a couple of vehicle fuses I have a 2004 Z71 Silverado with the factory trailering package and the 7 blade connector. The trailer has brakes and my brake system is operational. What fuses should I check on my 04 Silverado? Thank you for any additional info or troubleshooting assistance.

Expert Reply:
The interior lights of your trailer would be receiving power from the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way which on Chevy trucks like your 2004 model is most likely just not active and you'd need to make a couple connections under the hood.
If you check out the attached help article you can see the connections under the hood you'll need to make.
