I have a great solution for you. Unfortunately, I confirmed with Thule that they currently do not have any trunk-mounted bike rack that is compatible with your 2017 BMW X3.

However, with that being said, a great alternative bike rack that will fit your vehicle is the Yakima HangOut 3 # Y02638. The HangOut has a total weight capacity of 90 pounds, but no single bike can weigh over 35 pounds. It includes anti-sway cradles with ChainStraps that holds the bike frames at 3 points to prevent sway and to prevent bike-to-bike contact. Locks are not included with this rack. You can add extra security to the racks with the etrailer cable lock # e98891 and the Thule Passive Security Strap # TH533.
