According to the owners manual on your 2016 Nissan Altima when your towing with the front wheels on a Tow Dolly # RM-2050-1 you need to do the following steps.
-Place the ignition switch in the OFF position, and secure the steering wheel in a straight-ahead position with a rope or similar device.
-Move the shift lever to the N (Neutral) position.
-Release the parking brake
