In order to mount the RockyMounts MonoRail to the front of your 2017 Ford F-150, you will need a front hitch. Since we only carry 2-inch hitch receivers that will fit your vehicle, you will need the 2-inch version of RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004 instead of the 1-1/4 inch version # RKY10003 in order for it to fit into the receiver. For a hitch that is compatible with the front of your 2017 Ford F-150, I recommend the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65067. The Draw-Tite hitch comes with all mounting hardware for a bolt-on installation onto the frame.
Since the measurement of the closest part of the Monorail is 5-3/4 inches, it will not be able to clear the front bumper of your truck. With that being said, I recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8. Not only will the Roadmaster adapter provide you enough clearance for your front bumper, it will also give you 8 inches of extra rise so that the Monorail will not come in contact with the ground during transport. It must be noted that using any kind of hitch adapter will decrease the load capacity of the hitch receiver by 50%. With that being said, you will still have enough weight capacity to transport the Monorail and your bikes.
