What is Function of 12 Volt Wires of Furrion Chill RV AC Thermostat

Question:

I am an Rv tech and a customer brought me a new Fussion 15,5 unit a controller and thermostat. The single unit controller had the heater wires, the freeze sensor, the air temp sensor, a 12v positive and negative, the led plug, and then had banded wires for thermostat and loose wires labeled similiar to t stat colors for low and high fan, compressor and ground. Your video only show 110v wire hook up and the diagram was of no help. I love the idea of the units and the thermostat but am at a lose with these controllers. I ended up using a conversion connector to the old controller but would love to sell these units if I could get better description of the controller.

I sent your message to Furrion to try and get their insight and they told me that "The 12v is the power/ground and the 115v is connection. The 12v power is wired to the thermostat."

If I’m replacing a vent fan with this ac, can I use the dc wiring from it? It doesn’t specify wire gauge or amp rating.

@William I'd go with a minimum of 12 gauge wire like our part # 12-1-1 which is sold by the foot.

@JamesonC I spoke with Lippert today. The 12v DC power wires coming out of their control box are 20ga. So the 12v vent fan wires are plenty big. This is to provide power to the thermostat. Thanks.
