5th Wheel Trailer to Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for a Truck with an Aluma Trick Bed  

Question:

I would like to purchase an Aluma Trick Bed with a gooseneck hitch. will this fifth wheel adaptor plate hitch work on an all aluminum truck bed?

First, the Curt X-5, # C16210, is designed to work with Curt Double-Lock, Flip and Store gooseneck hitches. If you have a different hitch it will not fit. Most of the force will be on the hitch but there will be some pressure on the bed as well and aluminum is more likely to deform so I do not recommend a 5th wheel adapter like this for your truck and new bed.

Instead, I recommend using an adpater that attaches to the trailer pin box and fits around the gooseneck ball in the truck which will eliminate contact with the aluminum truck bed. I recommend the Ranch Hitch # AM3100 with safety cable attachment # AM3109.

If the new bed is longer than 8 feet then go with the Ranch Hitch with the 8 inch offset # AM3139.
