I am sorry you have had issues with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM43125 you have installed on your 2013 Honda Ridgeline.
To make sure the harness stays in good working order for multiple years I recommend double checking that you are routing the harness in a way that it is not too close to the muffler that could cause the wiring to be damaged and cause the module to go bad.
Do you tow just one trailer, or multiple trailers? If you are towing just the same trailer each time I would take a look at the trailer wiring to make sure there are no damaged sections of wiring that shorts out under certain conditions like bumps or sharp turns etc that could be shorting out the module.
I included a video review of the # HM43125 for you to take a look at.
