Can Reese Dual-Cam Sway Control be Used Without a Weight Distribution System

Hi! I am considering buying the reese dual cam sway control. My question is can it be installed by itself without any weight distribution setup? I just need the sway control only. Thanks a bunch!

You would need to have spring bars on a weight distribution system in order to use dual-cam sway control # RP26002. Without a bar attached to it the dual-cam system cannot work.

For sway control only you will need to use a friction bar like # 83660. You would just need to add a sway control bracket like # RP26003 for a Class III or IV hitch or # RP26005 for Class II hitches. I have included a link to a typical installation for you to view.

Yes. If you don't need the weight distribution bars attached to carry the trailer to storage, you can absolutely use just the WD hitch head and ball to tow the trailer. It will work just like a ball mount.
