Torque Wrench Recommendation for Installing Trailer Hitch

Question:

Hi, I just received my hitch and want to install it by myself basically DIY. I read that we need to have a torque wrench for the specified torque for the nuts. What are the good options for torque wrench that i can buy? There are too many options on the internet and are confusing. Thanks in advance

We offer a nice 100 ft/lb capacity 3/8 inch drive torque wrench from Performance Tools that's rated for 10-100 foot lbs as part # PT87ZR, but unless you regularly do automotive work you might be better off borrowing a wrench from a friend or neighbor. Some auto parts sores will loan or rent tools, which is a good alternative.

A beam-type torque wrench like # PTW3001C would be a less expensive alternative, but I'd personally avoid those as they're not terribly accurate.
