Will an Old Tekonsha Prodigy RF Interfere with a Curt Echo
Question:
My prodigy RF controller that I now have is giving me problems, so I was thinking about changing to this unit. 4 years ago the dealer installed the prodigy Rf unit, so I think the original wiring goes into that unit and another plug comes out that I plug into my car. can I just leave the prodogy unit alone and use the current wiring setup or will that unit mess with the curt echo?

The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional # C51180 does not require any wiring and will not experience interference from RF since it uses Bluetooth technology. The brake controller plugs in line with your 7-way trailer connection and is operated using your smartphone.
As for your old Tekonsha Prodigy RF, I would recommend removing it so you don't have to figure out how to secure the unused 8 foot 7-way cable. It is attached with 4 screws so it should be fairly easy to remove it from your trailer. This unit will not interfere if you choose to leave it mounted as long as you don't plug it in and operate its controller at the same time as the Echo, so that is entirely up to you.
I have attached a review of the Curt Echo for your reference.
