Roof Rack And Cargo Box For A 2011 BMW X3 With A Naked Roof

Question:

I looks like these roof bars # RR36MR will fit my 2011 BMW X3 - naked roof. 1 I have a sunroof, does that effect the fit, safety or complicate the installation? 2 Which roof boxes will fit with this rack and my SUV. I see some have large/deep brackets for attaching to the bars. How can I tell which boxes/brackets will work?

This Rhino-Rack Roof Rack # RR36MR will work with your 2011 BMW X3 and it will not affect your sun roof. It will still open and close normally. This Yakima Skybox NX 16 will fit # Y95AV. Just make sure that when you install the roof rack measure from the front bar to the rear hatch when open is at least 47 inches. This just makes sure you can still open your hatch without it hitting the roof box.

These roof rails and the cargo box will work together since the bar is less than 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-11/16 inches.
