Rail Adapters Needed For A Reese Hitch In A 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty With OEM Prep Pkg
Question:
I have a 2016 F250 with factory fifth wheel bung mounts. Is there a economical fifth wheel hitch similar to the RP30047 or do I need to order a mounting bracket to go between the OEM mounts and the fifth wheel hitch from you?

If you want to use the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000lbs Item # RP30047 and drop into the factory puck system you'll need the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter for Standard 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 20,000lbs Item # RP30156.
Since you do have a 6-3/4' bed I do recommend switching to a sliding hitch or a sidewinder pin box. For the sliding hitch I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000lbs # C16521 with the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch - Ford and Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C88KR. This will push the pivot point back 12" to increase turn radius and help prevent the nose of your trailer from coming into contact with the cab of your truck.
To recommend the correct sidewinder I'll need to know what your current pin box is. If you could reply back with the serial numbers off yours I can recommend the correct replacement and the compatible hitch. The sidewinder will move the pivot point back 22" but will require a wedge kit to lock the king pin into the arms of the hitch so the pin box will only rotate at the trailer.
