Will Thule Helium Pro 3 Bike Carrier # TH9043PRO Fit on Toyota 4Runner

Question:

I am looking to buy the hitch mount bike rack and was uncertain if you have to have anything done to the original hitch from the factory to use this type of rack? I know that I needed to have something added to the factory stock hitch to be able to use a moving company trailer . Do you know?

The Thule Helium Pro # TH9043PRO will be a great rack on your Toyota 4Runner's factory trailer hitch has a 2-inch receiver. It tilts away from the vehicle so you can more easily access your rear cargo bay and features an anti-rattle device to cut down on noise while traveling. It also folds up when not in use and has a weight capacity of 37.5 lbs per bike.

While the Pro Series is a solid choice, I also like the Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack # S63380. It features rubber straps to more securely hold your bikes as well as anti-sway cradles that will prevent bike-to-bike and bike-to-car contact. This rack would cost less than the Helium Pro.

I have provided a link to the installation instructions as well as one to a review video for this product.

If you plan on hauling women's or children's bikes, you might be interested in the Swagman Bike Adapter # 64005. It creates a horizontal bar for bikes that do not have one, providing more ground clearance for the bikes while they are being transported. I have included a link to a video review of this item.
