Can Parking Brakes of Dexter 7 Inch K23-103-104-00 Trailer Brakes Be Left Disconnected
Question:
Does the parking brake feature require being hooked up? I have a 1994 Jayco 1206 with surge brakes and want to convert to electric brakes. The trailer has a 2200 pound Dexter Torflex Axle. These electric brakes appear to be the correct ones for the conversion. However, I prefer not hook up the parking brakes if the brakes will still work while towing the trailer.

According to Dexter, the parking brake feature can be left unhooked and the brakes will work just fine for you.
