Parts Needed to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 1999 Toyota Tacoma with 4-Way Wiring Harness
Question:
Do you know where I can find the wire harness for the brake controller on a 1999 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4? Also, I need a brake controller and a 7 way plug wired and my tacoma already has a 4 pin wired to the bumper. Are these the only two products that I require? 90885 ETBC7

Expert Reply:
Since your 1999 Toyota Tacoma already has a 4-Way trailer wiring harness, you will only need the 4 and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7 and the brake controller itself. A plug in type of harness is not available for the 1999 Toyota Tacoma so it is a hardwire installation.
I have included some links that explain the ETBC7 installation and some information on brake controllers for you.
The Tekonsha P2 # 90885 is a good choice. This is one of our most popular brake controllers because it is easy to set up and use and is very reliable.
