What Would Cause Trailer Tires Size ST205/75-14 to Wear Out on Insides
Question:
My Toy Hauler has 2 3500 lb axels totaling 7000 lbs carry capacity. On the RV sticker it states the the gross weight is 7700 lbs fully loaded of which Im not over. So are my axels able to carry 700 lbs over what they are rated for? Im having troubles with the tires and or the axels. They are 205 75 14 c rated. They are wearing around 1 to 1.5 inches on the very inside on the tread on all four tires and are down to the wear bars but just on the inside. Had a blow out this past weekend. Brought RV new 1.5 years ago. Trying to determine what size tires I need and If the axels need updated to a heavier capacity. Thanks

Tires wearing out on the insides of a trailer typically means the axles are over loaded which is causing the axle to basically bend out. It is odd your trailer essentially has an axle capacity of 7,000 lbs but they have the GVWR listed as 7,700 lbs. This is most likely related to the tongue/pin weight of the trailer not being supported by the axles.
I would recommend a Load Range D in your tire size of ST205/75-14 like with the part # 274-000012 as a Load Range C would basically match your current axle capacity but not the total trailer capacity you mentioned.
Now to pick out axles we'd need to know the distance between spring seats of what you have now as well as the hub face to hub face dimension. With that info we could pick out a replacement. I attached a link to all of the axles we offer and on the page you can use the filters to see the correct lengths you'd need.
Keep in mind we don't have every axle length out there so if you can't find the correct size you'd have to find a local trailer shop who'd be able to custom order the correct one.
