Air Distribution Box Torque Specs
Question:
Upon installing the air distribution Box to the rooftop AC, I began to torque down the four bolts to the required torque specs that are in the installation manual. I have not been able to torque the bolts to the required specs and now the air distribution box frame has been tweaked. I have tried two different torque wrenches and have not been able to hear the torque click. I have included photos of my installation. Should I continue ratcheting with my torque wrench or stop. Please advise

The bolts on your Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Start Capacitor - 13,500 Btu - White Item # ACM135C are supposed to be torqued to about 33 to 35 in/lbs. It sounds to me like your wrench might be set to ft/lbs and that's why you aren't hearing it click. Based on the pictures you have it a bit over-torqued but I would leave them since you bent the metal and bending it back could lessen the integrity of the metal. You should be fine moving forward with your installation of the ac unit.
