Will Road Shock Still Be Absorbed Using Gen-Y Torsion Ball Mount 325-GH-1124 W/ 7000lb Trailer?
Question:
Hi, I have a 2500 class pickup with a towing rating of up to 17,500 lbs. The largest trailer I own has a GVW of 16k lbs. The smallest has a GVW of 7k lbs. I am thinking about getting the 16k version of the boss but am wondering what will happen if I run my smaller trailer, will it simply provide no benefit or it it just diminished benefit? Thanks

You are dead on.
Using the Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch - 5" Drop/Rise - 16K # 325-GH-1124 will be perfect for your 16000lb trailer, but on your trailer weighing 7000lbs will just not absorb as much road shock.
This is due to the stiffness of the torsion flex tubes in the hitch, and the 7000lb under 50% of the max rating of the hitch.
I included a video of the # 325-GH-1124 for you to take a look at.
