Using Battery Isolating Solenoid # PK5231201 to Switch off 7-Way Accessory Power Feed on 2013 RAM

Question:

I am aware of the T connectors but connection to the 12V bat power is a problem On the dodge ram is the 12V alway on in the 7 pin connector? I am also aware of the relays you have to isolate the truck battery. But do you have a application specific setup for the newer dodge trucks kit. Like wiring it into the truck so it autoswitches.

On the Dodge trucks, the 12-volt accessory circuit of the 7-way is indeed active when the vehicle is switched off. To prevent the vehicle battery from being inadvertently discharged, you can make sure the trailer is unplugged when the vehicle is turned off or you can install a battery isolating solenoid like part # PK5231201. The solenoid would be wired according to the photo I edited for you.

When the center pin of the isolator is wired to an ignition powered power source (a circuit that only has power when the ignition switch is turned on), the power feed will only be active when the ignition is turned on. IF wired correctly, the solenoid will automatically power the circuit up when the ignition is switched on.

This is not a vehicle specific item, but it would do exactly what you describe and would be easy to install.
