Can I Install a Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect on a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Question:
Hi, I came across this product during my search for 12V auto battery disconnect devices that I can control from the vehicle interior. I’m not looking to tow with it, but only for the battery disconnect functionality and safety this product seems to provide. I also have a 12 volt AGM battery group 51R as opposed to lead acid installed in my vehicle if this needs to be taken into account. I’m having difficulty finding a solution that I want which does not involve too much ‘fabrication’ or rewiring on my end. Any help and suggestions for similar options would be of great benefit for me please if this product ultimately does not work for my vehicle!! Thank you very much for your help and time

I suppose that the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 could be installed on your 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid AWD with an AGM battery if you needed to, and there wouldn't be any damage done. Typically one of the cable is connected to an auxiliary charge line that comes from your RV, but you could just put a butt connector over it or some electrical tape to keep it from creating any short circuits.
