Under the Hood Wiring Connections to Power a Brake Controller and 7-Way on a 2011 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Is that ok to hook up both wires under the hood to the small stud on the fuse box? I took my truck to the garage to have the brake controller installed and I watched the video you have on installing and you have 1 wire on each stud. The big stud and small stud . I want to make sure its ok the way they hooked it up?

You will want to have each of those wires attached to the proper locations on the power distribution box. I suppose that whoever did the installation was trying to same some time. But those circuits have different power requirements and you do not want any back feeding issues so they will need to be separated.
If facing the truck from the front, the wire that comes from the left of the power distribution box will need to go to the right stud at the front of the box. The wire from the right side goes to the left stud. Chances are they put both wires on the smaller stud.
The far right stud will need a 40 amp fuse in the location nearest that stud. And you can put a 30 amp one in the place nearest the right stud if it is not already there. I have linked a video and an FAQ article on this for you.
