I have an option for you to carry bikes with your 2012 Toyota Prius V, but there are no trunk mounted bike racks that will work on your 2012 Toyota Prius V because of the spoiler.
You are going to want to install a trailer hitch and use a hitch mounted bike rack. For a hitch I would recommend the Draw Tite Hitch # 24847. I attached installation instructions and an installation video for you to check out also.
For a bike rack I would recommend the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Carrier part # S64670. This one of our top rated platform bike racks that will work on a Class I hitch like the # 24847.
