Parts Needed to Add a 7 Way Towing Connector to a 2018 Lexus GX 460
Question:
I need to add a 7 pin towing connector to my 2018 GX460. it did not have a tow package as an option when purchased. Is there a Hopkins part number to order? Does it need a special wiring harness, or would it be just plug in?

To get a 7 Way installed on your 2018 Lexus GX 460, you will need to start with a 4 Flat harness. If you already have this, you can jump to the next part. However, if you do not currently have one, I suggest the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. This is designed for vehicles with more advanced computers and will not require splicing in to any of the wiring on the vehicle.
Our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 will have the 7 Way plug, bracket, all wiring needed, circuit breakers, wiring connectors needed to get you up and running.
If you are towing a trailer that is equipped with electric brakes, I also recommend going with the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160. This is an easy to use and set up controller that will handle up to 3 axles that have brakes.
