Timbren Axle-Less Kit for Off-Road Trailer with 5 on 5 inch Bolt Pattern

Question:

I have an M416 1/4 ton military surplus trailer for off-road use. I am considering some of the Timbren axleless components, but will need some hubs. These trailers do not have brakes except for a hand lever parking brake. So am I looking for an idler hub because it doesnt have a driving brake system, or does even a parking brake require more than an idler hub? I use this for camping gear but not roof top tent, so any suggestion on which Timbren is appreciated. The towing vehicle is a 2012 Jeep JK with a 3.5inch lift and running LT325/65R18 tires with 5x5 spacing, but since my wheels are discontinued, its not like I can use my jeep spare for the trailer or can I? so open to suggestions.

For an off-road trailer that weighs what you mentioned the 2,000 lb Timbren Axle Less kit with a lift kit part # ASR2KHDS03 would be your best option. Then for hubs with the 5 on 5 inch bolt pattern we have the part # AKIHUB-550-35-K for an idler hub or # AKHD-550-35-K for a hub/drum. It's generally not recommended to use a vehicle wheel and tire as a trailer spare but for off-road trailers it's more common.

I am not sure how a hand brake would integrate into this though as that's not a standard trailer brake setup.
