E-Bike Rack For 2018 Ford Transit RV with 1.25” Receiver

Question:

Hi, You recommend a Swagman bike rack for RV use. Will hold two 60-lb Ebikes. BUT it uses 2” receiver. I have 2 60-lb Ebikes. I have an RV with a 1.25” receiver. 1–What bike racks will work for me? 2–Would the Swagman work with a receiver adapter? 3–Would a flat baggage platform work…one that attaches to the RV bumper? If I fold my Ebikes and put them in containers of some kind? Thanks!

You can use the Saris SuperClamp # SA4025F. This will fit in the 1-1/4 hitch that you have on your 2018 Ford Transit. It has a 60 lb capacity per bike. I do not recommend using an adapter because it will cut your hitches capacity in half which will result in the hitch not being able to support the rack and two ebikes. So, that is not an option. A flat baggage platform like this # HR1450Z-85 won't work with an 1-1/4" hitch and since you have a transit, it's not like the steel square bumpers that motorhome/RVs have. Those accessories are made for 3"x3" and 4"x4" steel bumpers.

If you want to enable your transit to do more, replace your hitch with a 2" # e98842. Then you can use pretty much any bike rack you want.
