Lifting A Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel Hitch Out Of A 2017 For F-250 Super Duty
Question:
I want to remove my hitch from my truck bed..can I use the kingpin to support the hitch for a short period until I place the support stand underneath? Will the hitch engage into autoslide?

Expert Reply:
I highly recommend not doing this because that is way too much to put on the kingpin and you risk damaging it and the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 18,000lbs Item # DM8550034. Instead you can use the Demco 5th Wheel Lifting Bracket Item # DM6100 with an engine hoist/lift and even then I would not leave it in there for long.
