The Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System Item # SM99251 requires the yellow and green wire to be tied into the wiring going to the towed vehicle lights. Per Demco, as long as the Cooltech wiring system ties into the light system on the towed vehicle and the green and yellow wire from the braking system can be connected to it then it will work. The diodes in the diode wiring kit Item # RM-15267 are only to protect the wiring on the towed vehicle from back feed coming from the motor home because the two vehicle are essentially being wired directly together. The only separation in that wiring is the plug on the motor home and plug at the front of the vehicle.
With the diode kit, the wire coming from the plug on the front of the vehicle, doesn't actually make direct contact with the factory wiring on the vehicle. It connects to a spade on the diode and the factory wiring connects to a separate spade.
