Which Weight Distribution Shank Fits 2017 Volvo XC90 W/ 2-1/2 Deep Receiver Tube
Question:
I have a 2017 Volvo XC90 with the factory hitch. Im trying to find a weight distribution hitch that will work with my SUV and my Winnebago 2100BH. The issue is the shank depth. The measurement from the back of the receiver to the center of the pin is 2.6 inches. Can you help me find a WD hitch that will work?

Since your 2017 Volvo XC90 has a trailer hitch receiver that from the back of the receiver to the center of the hitch pin hole is just over 2-1/2" you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # EQ37120ET but you will need to use the Gen-Y Torsion Weight Distribution Shank - 2" Hitches - 6-1/2" Drop/Rise - 1,100 lbs TW # GY54FR which has two hitch pin holes which are 2-1/4" to the back of the receiver and 1-1/4" to the back of the receiver as shown in the included diagram.
You can use either hitch pin hole, but Gen-Y recommends using the furthest forward hole if possible. This shank is rated to 1100lbs tongue weight, so you will need to make sure your trailer does not exceed that rating.
I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
