Does the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller Require Splicing Into Brake Circuit

Question:

So I have a 4 pole flat connecter wired up works fine and a 7 pole that I purchased from etrailer part of the universal kit you sell that the 4 pole plugs into mounted and lights all work. When I hooked up the remote brake controller, it blew my brake switch dealer told me due to both brake controller and remote start being hooked up. So my question is: if I purchase this controller echo will all I need to do is reconnect the fused wire to my battery for the accessory power? Basically not requiring me to tap into the brake switch.

Correct, the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 does not require splicing into the stop light switch circuit. It simply requires the power lead be hooked up to the battery. It gets the brake signal from the lights and then uses the integrated accelerometer to apply the proportional output.
