Can I Use the Curt Echo Even Though the Factory 7 Way Connector is Angled Down

Question:

I just received the nifty Curt Echo and quickly plugged it into the factory installed 7-pin adaptor of my 2018 Audi Q5. The plug angles down, and the Echo device is 8inch above ground level at its lowest trailer cable not yet plugged in. Is this too low? Do I need to figure out how to re-angle the plug?

We've actually seen this before with the Curt Echo # C51180 and Audi factory trailer plugs before, and the downward angle on your 7 way bracket will not affect the operation of the controller. You won't need to reposition the plug and the Echo will work in this orientation, so there's nothing to worry about there. You also should be able to plug in without any issues, but it's likely you'll get some dragging when going over speed bumps and such, so if that becomes an issue and there is a way to reposition the bracket you'll want to do so.
