Will the Thule Hullavator Work with the Factory Crossbars of a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas

Question:

I have a possible solution for you. First, though, the factory crossbars on a 2019 Volkswagen Factory do not extend past the feet. The Hullavator, part # TH898, requires 4" - 8" extension past the feet, so you won't be able to use this. Instead, you'll have to use a kayak carrier that does not need an extension. I recommend the Malone DownLoader, part # MPG114MD. It's a J-styel carrier that is compatible with the Malone Telos XL Load Assist, part # MPG351XL. It's a load assist with adjustable legs. I've linked to a video review of this combination below.

In that case, I recommend the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack, part # MPG216. They are aero-style bars that are 58" in length, so they should definitely extend past the legs. I can't say exactly how far, but the more flush rails available for Atlas are about 45", so 13" inches should give you the 4" - 8" extensions on both sides.
