Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and 5-way Connector For 1989 Chevrolet K1500 Extended Cab 4x4

Question:

Need to tow a 22ft Sea Fox boat 3600lbs with my 1989 Chevy SilveradoK1500 4x4 extended cab Can you please give hitch number class IV? Also need 2ball and kit Also 5 pin flat harness wiring. Thanks

For your 1989 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 Extended Cab 4x4 I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Multi Fit - Class IV - 2" # 37130 which is confirmed to fit your truck as long as it has the standard or step bumper and has a 700lb tongue weight rating and 7000lb trailer weight rating which is plenty for your 22' Sea Fox boat weighing 3600lbs.

For a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes two separate ball mounts with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop or a 2-3/4" rise and 4" drop so you can get your trailer level, and a 2" hitch ball you mentioned that you need for your trailer.

For a 5-way connector you will need to add the # 118315 and then add the 4-way to 5-way adapter # C57187 which will plug into your newly installed 4-way connector, and you will only need to connect the blue wire to the reverse light wire on your truck with the included quick splice to complete the installation.
