Can The Side Rails On Scratch And Dent Cargo Carrier E89GR Be Removed?
Question:
Can the side rails of the cargo carrier be cut off? I wouldnt want to impact the weight rating or function of the trailer.

I do not recommend cutting off the side railing on any of the cargo carriers. This would compromise the structural integrity and would certainly not be able to hold the same amount of weight as it would with the railing. The railing is permanent and cannot be removed.
If you are looking for a flat carrier without tall side rails then I recommend looking into 23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs # CC-100. This is nearly the same size as the Scratch and Dent Cargo Carrier and it is also a more affordable option. It has side walls that are only 2-5/16" tall, whereas the Scratch and Dent has side rails that are 6-1/2" tall. It also weighs 10lbs less but still has the same 500lb weight capacity as the Scratch and Dent. I attached a demonstration video for you.
