Correct Setup For TrailAir RotoFlex Hitching to Demco Hijacker Fifth Wheel

Question:

I ordered item number DM8550034 hijacker fifth wheel hitch and item number DM6171 capture plates for my 2020 Ram 2500. I am having the Reese above bed base rails installed. I have a Rota flex fifth wheel camper. My question is about the locking plates referred to in the description of the hijacker in which it states I will need locking plates am I correct to order item number DM6171 and I will be set up and ready to pull? Do I also need a lube plate and what lube plate is recommended? Thank you

Yes, you have ordered the correct and required Demco # DM6171 capture plates that match up from your Hijacker # DM8550034 to your RotaFlex. You will not need a lube plate. The only time that you will have any friction is hitching and unhitching, and that will be minimal. However, each 5000 miles or every couple months, Demco recommends lubricating moving parts and the gears with lithium grease like Lubrimatic # L11354 grease. While you are doing that, it would not hurt to put a little on the area around the capture plate area.
