5th Wheel Hitch for 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed no OEM Puck System
Question:
I like the BandW companion hitch because it has a small footprint and I can totally remove the hitch and it leaves the box free. My truck does not have the OEM prep package to accept this puck system. Does anyone make a prep package for this truck so I can use the companion hitch? My other option is to use the goose neck style but I rather stick with the conventional style. Or is there another style that gives me a free box when the hitch assembly is removed? Thanks,

The B & W 5th wheel is a great choice. This is one of, if not the best built hitches currently available. B & W is an all American made product that includes sourcing its materials from the USA in addition to making them here. They are constructed of highest grade materials and really just a great product.
For your 6-1/2 Foot Bed, 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, my recommendation is to go the route of the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs. and Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # BWRVK3400-5W and # BWGNRK1016-5W.
The built-in slider on this sturdy 5th-wheel hitch helps eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns and the dual jaws offer excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact. In addition, the hitch removes easily for full bed access. This is a confirmed fit for your 6-1/2 Foot Bed, 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
