Recommended Vehicle Wiring Harness For 2017 Honda CR-V AWD
Question:
Hi, I have a 2017 Honda CRV Touring AWD. I have recently installed a hitch C13397 on it which is working well for bike racks and cargo carriers. I was looking to install a wiring harness so i could pull a light trailer. My question is, can i install the 118741 or C56370 for proper lighting for my trailer? I have seen the videos that show the harness being plugged into a socket in the rear driver side wall - do all CRVs come with this or do i need a specific package? If I cannot install one of these parts, what are my other options to ensure lighting for my trailer? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Since your 2017 Honda CR-V Touring is the AWD model you can use either the Curt # C56370 or Tekonsha # 118741 will work for towing a trailer. All of the 2017 Honda CR-V's came with the factory connector behind the driver side rear trim panel so you do not have to worry about the connector not being there.
Between the two options I recommend the Tekonsha # 118741 as in our experience they tend to last longer and be more reliable, and have become a favorite of our installers.
To complete you towing setup you will also need a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
I included a video showing each of the products mentioned being installed for you to take a look at.
